Nerdtrope: Grand Duchy of Lithuania + Werewolves

From humble beginnings to Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth to 21st century, Lithuania has only had a single king. His name was Mindaugus. He reigned a full ten years before he and most of his family were assassinated and the monarchy was put to rest. Mindaugas had four children, Vaisvilkas, Rukyls, Rupeikis, and an unnamed daughter. As the oldest son, Vaisvilkas was in line to be the king. Vaisvilkas was a strange prince. Few had seen or heard from him. He kept to himself, usually sewing or brooding in his room. Servants were often shooed away, but knew not to question. As a child, about eight or so, Vaisvilkas was bitten by a werewolf as ordered by a political enemy of his father. He had lived a normal life until that point. He chatted with the servants, had playmates, and horsed around with his brothers. But, slowly as the symptoms arose, he grew more detached. The moon would send him itching to call to it. His body hair began sprouting much earlier than all the other boys. He nai

Time

The locomotive walks the whole earth. It is a train with infinite cars. Those in the end will never see the beginning and those in the beginning will never see the end. Save for the conductor. He has been with the train when it was one car and he remains with it now, it it’s never ending glory. His ride began 1809, 5 years after the train’s first invention. He wasn’t a wealthy man, but he saved up enough to buy an engine. He knew in time he’d buy cars and could bring passengers to pay it back. The man feared death. As his time drew closer, he began to devise a way to live longer. Modern medicine could do little to keep him alive, but witchcraft could. He lured a group of young witches to his train and kept them there. He forced them to teach him magic, to make his life eternal. Every year he would add another car. Each car was left in a time loop. The engine in 1809, the cart after in 1810, the cart after that 1811 and so on and so forth. His passengers had heard rumors of an im

Photograph Assignment: Abysmal Land

Abysmal Land Upon entering the park, you are greeted by Telephone People. They are human, all except for the heads. Some have phones for faces and some wear them on their heads. The Telephone People greet you to let you into the park. They don’t speak, only dial the numbers on their phones. If you hear a ringing, you may enter on the third ring. If you may not enter, the phones make a piercing beeping until you are escorted off the premise. Those who are allowed to enter are selected at random. The park rests on top of a dirt lot. The park gives off a slight green and dusty aura. It sits at the edge of a lake. The structures looked temporary, like a fair, as if it could be packed up in an instant. A broken down 1920s ford sits in lake. There’s no passenger door or windows and it’s more rusted than not. It’s half flooded. Though it looks as if there’s no protection, you can still breath. It takes you under the lake, weaving through tufts of seaweed, occasionally getting caught.

The Village of Platau Yipyee is home to the Yips. They live in isolation from Winkie Country. They are governed by the fair and dandy Frogman. He and his 9 children live in the center of Platau Yipyee in biggest house in the town. In single file lines his children, Yops, Hops, Ribbit, Croaker, Leaps, Teeps, Jiggly, Wiggly, and Ted, march themselves to church. The village is small enough to fit all it's people in it's modest church. It has a single room for prayer and a handsome steeple. Of his children, Yops, Hops, and Ribbit are the oldest. They care for Wiggly and Ted, whom are not yet old enough to croak or care for themselves.  The towns people respect their governor, Frogman. Though he is more consumed with fashion than he is with politics, life is much more free than what the rest of the Winkies endure. The citizens of Yipyee pay no mind, however. They are in awe that a frog can have so much to say.
